WHO Issues Statement on Coronavirus

The World Health Organization (WHO) this afternoon issued a statement on the outbreak a novel coronavirus in China. The Emergency Committee, convened today by the WHO Director-General, advised the outbreak did not constitute a Public Health Emergency of International Concern but agreed on the urgency of the situation and suggested that the committee reconvene in a matter of days to examine the situation further.
