What We Offer

Illinois Provider Trust (IPT) is a medical professional and general liability program serving Illinois hospitals and their affiliated physicians. Our early intervention claims philosophy focuses on identifying liability exposures and improving quality care. IPT is managed by Illinois Risk Management Services (IRMS), an IHA affiliate corporation that provides claims handling, risk management and other administrative services to the members.

Medical Professional Liability coverage for hospital-employed physicians is through the Medical Alliance Insurance Company (MAIC), an admitted Illinois insurance company. Leveraging the joint efforts of physicians and hospitals, the program provides early claims intervention to reduce legal costs and premiums, and to prevent plaintiffs’ attorneys from creating conflict between defendants.
