Who We Are

MAPS PSO is a non-profit organization that strives to be the leading PSO for Illinois healthcare organizations. Through our affiliation with IHA, we offer expertise and insight into the challenges facing healthcare providers across the state. MAPS PSO leverages that insight to deliver a comprehensive program to enhance patient safety and quality healthcare for all patients. MAPS PSO offers members opportunities to exceed standards of quality care through expert clinical staff and services. We focus on PSO education, strong patient-focused operations, and performance improvement.

Helping healthcare organizations realize better results for their patients is at the heart of what we do. We are also driven by a desire to provide patients with the best care possible. What We Do

MAPS PSO helps healthcare organizations promote and foster a culture of safety and create a secure environment where patient safety event information can be collected, aggregated, and analyzed to identify and reduce the risks and hazards associated with patient care. We also support our members with the information and requirements they need to know to develop operational plans for Patient Safety Evaluation System policies and Patient Safety Work Product in order to maximize the privileges afforded by the federal Patient Safety Act.
