In the coming months, the Illinois General Assembly will be addressing several critical issues impacting the hospital community, including the Healthcare Workforce Commission, 340B Pharmacy contract protections, and efforts to oppose government mandated nurse staffing ratios. The outcome of these discussions will depend on our ability to effectively engage with legislators, convey our key messages, and advocate with a strong, unified voice.

As part of our ongoing advocacy efforts, IHA will host a special Hospital Advocacy Day in Springfield on Wednesday, April 30th—an invaluable opportunity to meet face-to-face with legislators and directly share the hospital community’s priorities.

If you can attend, please RSVP by April 23, so IHA can arrange meetings with your legislators. For scheduling purposes, indicate in the RSVP form which state legislators you would like to meet with and your order of preference.

IHA will hold a briefing for hospital leaders at 7:30 a.m. on April 30 at Vinegar Hill Mall (107 W. Cook Street) in Springfield. A block of rooms has been reserved for Tuesday, April 29, at SpringHill Suites Springfield Southwest; guests have until April 8 to confirm their reservation.

To support your discussions with legislators, IHA will provide briefing papers and talking points in advance.

We look forward to seeing you in Springfield!
