Webinar 4: Do Well While You Do Good: Strengthening Rural Hospital Boards
Sponsored by Optum

Hospital trustees are hospital leaders, aligned with the mission and committed to the organization’s success. Yet, management and governance roles must be kept separate to meet external requirements and achieve organizational goals. Learn more in this interactive session focused on best practices for a hospital board’s structure and responsibilities. You’ll also hear case studies of challenging situations hospital boards have faced, so your trustees can prepare for and provide guidance on any issue that arises.

At the end of the session, you will be able to:

  • Explain why management and governance functions must be separated.

  • Describe examples of management functions vs governance duties.

  • Summarize the purpose of board by-laws.

  • Apply learning to real-life case studies.
