Resources for Implementation of New Pediatric Bed Regulations

IHA has compiled resources for hospitals including: a webinar recording, reporting files and member memos for implementation of new pediatric bed regulations.

• The Illinois Dept. of Public Health (IDPH) adopted amendments to the hospital licensing regulations (Jan. 5 Illinois Register pages 450-498) that will finalize implementation of the new pediatric bed regulations. A Jan. 17 memo provides additional information on these new regulations.

• IHA and ICAHN hosted a webinar on April 30 to assist in preparing hospitals for new state requirements on pediatric inpatient and observation care. • Download the Pediatric Data Tool spreadsheet and the Pediatric Data Tool for Consulting Hospital spreadsheet to track data monthly for submission to IDPH. Data can be submitted quarterly by the 15th day of the month following the quarter (i.e., 4/15, 7/15, 10/15 and 1/15) of each year.

•  The relevant sections of the Hospital Licensing Requirements related to the pediatric bed rules are: Section 250.310 c) and Section 250.1520 i) and j).
