Afternoon Receptionist (Part-Time) (Naperville)

The Illinois Health and Hospital Association seeks a Receptionist who will be responsible for professionally and pleasantly greeting and directing visitors, IHA members, and HealthCare Associates Credit Union (HACU) customers, both in person and by phone.  Provides administrative support to the Operations area and to other areas that require supplemental, periodic assistance. This in-person, part-time position is scheduled to work on Monday from 12:30 pm - 5:00 pm, and Tuesday – Friday from 12:30 to 4:30 pm. Occasional full days will be required for vacation coverage.

The ideal candidate is personable, detailed-oriented and a multitasker with reception experience. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is eager to greet our members and is ready to rise to the challenge of learning new things.  

High school diploma or GED required.  A minimum of two years related administrative work experience preferred.  Must have an intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Must have mathematical proficiency skills, and the ability to learn and use various software programs.  Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions within general guidelines.  Exemplary organizational skills, maturity, tactfulness, and sensitivity to confidential and political situations required.

Pharmacist-Emergency/ICU RN – Specialist in Poison Information (Chicago)

Illinois Health and Hospital Association is seeking a Specialist in Poison Information for its Illinois Poison Center (IPC) program. Since 1953, the IPC has been saving lives and improving care for Illinoisans by working to reduce the incidence and injury of poisoning throughout the state.

At the IPC, no day is alike. One morning, you may help panicky parents whose child has eaten something they shouldn’t. In the afternoon, you might advise a clinician from an Illinois Hospital who is caring for a poisoned patient. You’ll also further the state’s public health efforts by helping to track a variety of outbreaks and poisoning cases. 

The IPC team shares a passion for healthcare and a love of learning. You will be trained to help Illinoisans and Healthcare Providers regarding potentially harmful substances like medications, chemicals, plants, and mushrooms, and you’ll learn what to do for someone suffering from poisonous bug bites, stings and more. By working side-by-side with toxicology specialists who have decades of experience in the field, you’re guaranteed to learn something new every day.

The Illinois Poison Center (IPC) of the Illinois Health and Hospital Association seeks a Specialist in Poison Information to work for the longest established and largest poison center in the U.S. This individual answers and triages emergency poison exposure calls and information requests from the general public and health care providers. Accountable for efficient, timely and accurate responses and documentation and follow-up to incoming poison information/exposure calls. Receives in-house training in the field of clinical toxicology and preparation for the national poison specialist certification exam. Participates in IPC’s robust professional education program, which precepts pharmacy and medical students and residents.

Doctorate in Pharmacy or medicine (Must be licensed in the state of Illinois within 6 months of start date); Masters level Physician Assistant; or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Pharmacy licensed in the state of Illinois with three or more years of critical care or emergency department experience. Exemplary clinical pharmacology and calculations skills required. Exemplary organizational, communication, and conflict management skills in a fast-paced environment.  Maturity, tactfulness and sensitivity to confidential situations. Proficient computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office, database management programs, and the internet. Incumbent must sit for the APC Certified Specialist in Poison Information Exam during the first qualifying exam cycle, and pass the exam within 2 attempts. Performance of job responsibilities may exceed regular work hours including day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday hours, and may require last minute schedule changes or frequent schedule alterations.

Claims Specialist, Medical Malpractice (Naperville with remote work from home options)

The Illinois Health and Hospital Association seeks a Claims Specialist, Medical Malpractice responsible for assisting the Claims and Litigation Supervisors, Senior Claims and Litigation Supervisors and AVP, Claims by processing claims documents and maintaining claim files, processing correspondence, preparing reinsurance reports, processing legal invoices, assisting in ascertaining and documenting relevant facts relating to professional and general liability claims. 

The ideal candidate will have a background working as a Claims Specialist, Assistant, Analyst or similar role with an insurance company or working at a law firm or corporation processing claims or legal related documents.  The ideal candidate will possess a desire to work in a hybrid work environment with the med mal claims and litigation team.  

Associate’s degree or a minimum of 2 years’ experience.  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and good interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.  Team player who can manage multiple projects.  Weekly presence in an IHA office is required.
